Our Ministries
At Payne Memorial AME Church, ministry is more than a program — it’s a lifestyle of faith in action.
We are a church committed to nurturing spiritual growth, empowering youth, championing justice, supporting families, and building a vibrant, healthy community. Explore the many ministries that make our church a place where everyone can find their place to grow, serve, and lead.
Women’s Missionary Society (WMS)
Compassion in action. The WMS leads missions locally and globally, addressing education, health, human rights, and disaster relief with a strong foundation in Christian love.
Sons Of Allen
Brotherhood in Christ. The Sons of Allen fosters fellowship, leadership, and service among the men of our church and community.
Music Ministry
The Payne MCAM is a diverse group of ensembles who are set on worshiping God in spirit and in truth through the mode of the arts. Our choirs include: The Mass Choir, The Souls of Worship (Praise Team) and Little Lambs Choir (Youth). Our dance ministry is also alive and well with our youth praise dancers. Our audio visual team is helping to set the atmosphere in worship as well.
The Young People and Children’s Division
The YPD is a thriving community where young people are empowered to become strong Christian leaders, deeply connected to the church and its mission. They equip youth from ages 13-26 with skills for success in all aspects of life while fostering a sense of unity and service within the church and the wider community.
Lay Organization
The Lay Organization is a body committed to equipping, educating, and empowering laypersons to serve with excellence, integrity, and bold faith. Rooted in our rich Wesleyan heritage and the prophetic witness of Richard and Sarah Allen, we continue the legacy of building a just and compassionate society through service, advocacy, and transformative ministry.
We believe that every layperson is a leader, and every voice matters in the ongoing struggle for dignity, justice, and freedom.
The Richard Allen Young Adult Council
RAYAC allows young adults opportunities in the church to foster their leadership potential, and encourage them to use their gifts to serve the Lord. RAYAC also focuses on discipleship, leadership training, fellowship, and social justice initiatives
